- How do I know which degree is best for me?
You can find information regarding majors in our department at Degrees and Programs.
- I need to retake an ASU course for the third time or more. What do I need to do?
Students need to fill out a petition through the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences to retake a class for the third time or more. You can find many CLAS forms at http://clas.asu.edu/students/forms. Click on Standards Committee Petitions (College of Liberal Arts and Sciences majors only) and select the appropriate form for you.
- What do I need to do to apply for graduation?

- I am interested in a prehealth field (medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary, optometry, chiropractic, podiatry, naturopathy, physician assistant, occupational therapy, or physical therapy). Where can I receive more information?
Students can meet with their advisor regarding any of the prehealth tracks. You can also receive information through the prehealth website at http://prehealth.asu.edu/.
- Where can I find more information about Science and Society courses?
Science and Society courses need to be completed by students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who are pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree. More information can be found at http://clas.asu.edu/students/degreerequirements/scienceandsociety.htm.
- How do I obtain an override for a chemistry or biochemistry course?
Students wanting an override into a course that is full, need to obtain instructor approval. You can pick up a form in the main department office in PS D102 to obtain the instructor's signature or you can email the instructor directly. If permission is granted, submit either the paperwork with instructor's signature or forward the email from the instructor to your department advisor.
Students wanting an override into a course because they do not meet the prerequisites for the course they are wanting to take, need to obtain instructor approval. Students needing an override into a course because they have taken the prerequisite at another institution and therefore don't have the appropriate prerequisite(s) on file with ASU need to fill out the Prerequisite Override Form.
- How do students participate in research in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry?
There are many opportunities for students in chemistry and biochemistry to work with faculty doing research. You can find more information on how to do research at Undergraduate Research.
- Where can I find more information about a minor in chemistry or biochemistry?
Students can gather information about majors, minors, and certificates at http://www.asu.edu/programs/.
- I have an advising hold or an ehold on my account. How do I have this hold removed?
If you are a current ASU student, schedule an appointment with your advisor to have the hold removed.

- Where can I find information about how courses transfer to ASU from Arizona Community Colleges, University of Arizona, and Northern Arizona University?
Students can find information about transferring within Arizona's public institutions of higher education by going to http://aztransfer.com/home.
- How do I get an override for a course that is offered outside of the chemistry/biochemistry department (i.e., math, biology, etc.)?
You need to contact the appropriate department directly for an override for a course offered outside of the chemistry/biochemistry department. You can find contact information by going to www.asu.edu.
- Where can I find information regarding Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) credit?
Go to http://universitycollege.asu.edu/advising/orientationprep/docs/AP-IBcredit.pdf for information on how AP and/or IB credit transfers to ASU.
