Charlotte Bonneau is a graduate student in Mike O'Keeffe's lab:

I enjoy the fact that at ASU you get the support you need, but also the chance to prove yourself.

Pictures of Atomic Orbitals
We have all seen pictures of atomic and molceular orbitals in textbooks. Those pictures are generated either simply as artists impressions, or as a result of computer calculations. Observations of actual orbitals are very rare! However, using a unique electron scattering method, ASU Chemistry and Biochemistry Professor Michael O'Keeffe and Physics Professor John Spence obtained pictures of the orbitals of the Copper-Oxygen bonds in the mineral cuprite.
