hereís so much I have learned from being a student in the classroom, but when I look back on my education it was the experiences that I had outside of the classroom where I really feel like Iíve learned the most. After being involved with Undergraduate Student Government since my freshman year, this past spring semester, I made the decision to run for Executive Office. I was really scared and hesitant about it at first. The time commitment and the ability to handle it along with school was the biggest reason for my worry. But it was the support of my two running mates Jacob Goulding and Michael Wong that got me past my worry, and more importantly the whole campaign. We went through so much together, I could not have asked for better running mates, and best friends to work with.

No one realizes how extremely time consuming running for Executive Office is. Campaign season was a complete two-month process. Between formulating our platform, planning out the campaign trail, and actually living the campaign, the three of us spent two months with very little sleep and barely any time for a social life let alone school. A lot of time and effort had to be put into the campaign, but after all the tabling, debates, campaign strategizing and work we put into the campaign, it was definitely worth it. We came out of the race for office on top. We definitely couldnít have done it without the support of our friends and family though, and for that I want to say thank you to everyone who believed in us and was there for us from Day 1.

I'm so honored to be serving the student body as their Vice President of Services. I’m looking forward to

everything I get to work on and oversee this year. With my position I will be overseeing Safety Escort, Bike Co-Op, Health/Wellness, Outreach, and Special Events. Many changes will be made this year to help improve these services for students, especially with the new Health Center Expansion. I only have a whole year in office, but I’m going to try my hardest to do as much as I can to make the biggest impact on ASU as possible. I love our school so much and am so proud to be a Sun Devil. I hope to give back to ASU as much as this university has given me. There is so much you can learn sitting in the classroom, but the experience I will be getting from being involved in student government doesn’t even compare. It’s only been a few months since I stepped into office, but already I feel like I’ve learned so much about being a leader, about the university, and representing the students’ voice. I can already tell that I will be walking away from this experience as a completely different person.
